PhaReD Foundation conducts research and development, disseminate information and knowledge related to health and medicines, as well as health system and pharmaceutical system. The key knowledge management approach employed is to link research with routine work in health service setting and health system and develop feedback mechanisms for continuous improvement. Main activities include :
1. Knowledge to the General Public :
- Ya&You: A user-friendly website enriched with searchable pharmaceutical and health information in Thai lay language for the general public (in collaboration with NECTEC)
- Educational sessions to promote rational use of medicines and care
2. Support Evidence-Based Decisions in Health Facilities :
- Drug Utilization Analysis: Analysis of hospital drug and other related databases to support evidence-based decision-making for hospital pharmaceutical policy
- CQ-Care-DM: Develop and implement a computer-assisted comprehensive diabetic care information management system for hospitals
- Hospital Pharmacy Indicators: Research and development of standardized indicators for hospital pharmacy quality improvement
- Training on Drug Utilization Analysis: for hospital personnel
3. Support Evidence-Based Policy Decisions :
- Develop drug quality information system for the five countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (in collaboration with United States Pharmacopeia)
- Mapping supply and distribution of Avian Influenza medicines
- Comparative study of health insurance cost sharing in 10 countries
4. Other Research :
- Study of Medicine procurement management and regulation
- Medicine price survey
- Research and development on drug coding scheme and pharmacy standard documentation
- Comparative study of pharmaceutical system information in other countries
- Comparative study of pharmaceutical system indicators in Thailand, other countries and international organizations
5. Others :
- Provide practical training for pharmacy students in pharmacy and health informatics
